Welcome
More than the finish line is my philosophy for endurance and ultras. I get so much more out of training, planning, traveling and racing than just crossing a finish line.

Mike Le Roux is a 34-year-old ultra athlete who doesn’t identify with a single sport, discipline or race. He is always looking for a new challenge using the ability to push the limits of his body and his endurance to participate in as many exciting and exotic ultra events as he can afford. Mike focuses his passion for endurance into an every day lifestyle of being outdoors, enjoying the journey of reaching a new goal and being in the moment. ‘More than the finish line', embodies a few different and equally important beliefs for Mike. Firstly that endurance sport is beyond muscle and machine, where fitness on its own isn’t enough; in fact it's mostly between the ears, which makes it really interesting. Plus, you need to be intrinsically motivated to do it - in other words, you have to love being in the moment of every footfall or pedal stroke, to be in the great outdoors and to be in your own company.
