Training Diary

Week Ending 17th April 2011

Time out there: 23 hours; Mileage for the week: 485km

Week Ending 10th April 2011

Time out there: 16.5 hours; Mileage for the week: 318km

This week was about building slowly back into it. It has been two full weeks since Moab and truthfully I haven't felt like training hard. This following week will be another incremental build, leaving me with 7 weeks to Challenge Cairns. Hopefully this should be enough time to work off my base and focus on quality sessions rather than quantity.

Week Ending 28th March 2011

Time out there: 25 hours; Mileage for the week: 220km

A bit slack in updating the training log for race week. Here it is. There is nothing for the week following the race, as the majority was spent in the air and recovering.

Week Ending 20th March 2011

Time out there: 16.5 hours; Mileage for the week: 325km

This was a taper week. I leave for Moab on Wednesday 23rd March. This weekend Cairns was fortunate enough to have been visited by Crowie (Craig Alexander), and I was fortunate enough to get in two really good long runs with him.

Week Ending 13th March 2011

Time out there: 23 hours; Mileage for the week: 325km

Week Ending 6th March 2011

Time out there: 22.5 hours; Mileage for the week: 376km

This was a slightly easier week as I prepare for the following two weeks which will be my last two weeks before I head to Moab. I managed 68km in total for Saturday's run which I was pretty stoked about.

Week Ending 20th February 2011

Time out there: 25.5 hours; Mileage for the week: 413km

Week Ending 13th February 2011

Time out there: 23 hours; Mileage for the week: 362.5km

A good week. I missed some bike sessions due to being in Alice Springs for the first part of the week, but finished strong with a good 52km run on Sunday.

Week Ending 6th February 2011

Time out there: 15.5 hours; Mileage for the week: 277km

I started the week with the best intention of increasing time and mileage. However, Cairns and the Far North was hit by a Category 5 Tropical Cyclone on Wednesday, whcih seriously impacted any plans of training consistency. Fortunately we did not sustain any real damage and so the last few days have been focussed on cleaning up and unpacking everything back into it's normal place.
